She said that she was a widow and a mother of four children. After her husband’s death, her husband’s family kicked her out of the house, and she lived every period in one of her relatives’ homes.

The doors of hope were closed to me, and in order to be able to provide food for my children, I began to learn to make incense and make small quantities of it at home and sell it to people I know. These quantities did not cover the minimum needs of me and my children.” She said

 and she also said “when I was accepted  in the livelihood improvement project implemented by Alatta for Relief and Development, I was able to develop my skills in manufacture of incense and perfumes, and after obtaining the financial grant, I was able to develop my project and produce larger quantities of incense in addition to buying and selling perfumes and was able to provide my needs and the needs of my children and with time I am confident That my project will develop further, and I will be able to rent a house for me and my children, and I will make them live a normal life and complete their studies, God willing.

I feel that my psyche has improved and my dealings with my children are much better than before. Even the children are regaining their self-confidence, and my happiness with my new project is positively reflected in their lives.

 

A documentary about the Emergency Health and Water Response Project, Implementing Al-Atta for Relief and Development- in partnership with the International Rescue Committee and funded by the European Union.

The project aims to:

  • Rehabilitation and restoration of 5 health units in the governorates of Shabwa – Aden – Al-Bayda
  • Providing the targeted health centers with the necessary medical equipment and furniture
  • Providing health awareness about confronting the Corona virus (Covid 19)

The number of beneficiaries of the various health services provided reached 70,000 beneficiaries.

Under partnership with YHF, ARD finalized all engineering works of ،Fargan water project

Under partnership with YHF, ARD finalized all engineering works of ،Fargan water project that benefited )2037( beneficiaries. The engineering works included the following themes:

• Installation of an integrated water-pumping unit.

• Installation of solar energy system.

•Installation of an automatic chlorine dosing system.

• Construction of control room for the solar energy system.

• Construction of protection grid for solar energy panels.

The project has been formally handed over to the community committee that was trained during the project period and the competent authorities to give permission to operate it permanently.

Under partnership with YHF, ARD finalized all engineering works of ،Kherbat Jaradah water project

Under partnership with YHF, ARD finalized all engineering works of ،Kherbat Jaradah water project that benefited )3507( beneficiaries. The engineering works included the following themes:

• Rehabilitation of   water concrete tank with capacity of 150 m3.

• Replacement of the old plastic water network.

•Improve the main network of the project by installing 600 meters of iron pipes.

• Installation an integrated water-pumping unit.

• Installation the solar energy system.

• Installation an automatic chlorine dosing system.

• Construction of control room for the solar energy system.

• Implementing protection grid for solar energy panels.

The project has been formally handed over to the community committee that was trained during the project period and the competent authorities to give permission to operate it permanently

Under partnership with YHF, ARD finalized all engineering works of Hawat water project

Under partnership with YHF, ARD finalized all engineering works of Hawat water project that benefited )4826( beneficiaries. The engineering works included the following themes:

• Rehabilitation of   water concrete tank with capacity of 200 m3.

• Rehabilitation of the exist stone reservoir.

• Installation of ironic network pipes for the pumping line from the well to the concrete tank.

• Installation of ironic network pipes for the liquefaction line from the concrete tank to the old stone tank.

•Improving the main network of the project by supplying and installing 870 meters of iron pipes.

• Installation an integrated water-pumping unit.

• Installation of the solar energy system.

• Installation of an automatic chlorine dosing system.

• Construction of a control room for the solar energy system.

• Implementation of   protection grid for solar energy panels.

The project has been formally handed over to the community committee that was trained during the project period and the competent authorities to give permission to operate it permanently.

ARD distributes 1000 BHKs to 1000 HHs in Hawat, Kherbat Jaradah and Farghan areas in Sabah district.

Under the partnership between YHF and ARD in WASH project in Sabah district – Albayda governorate, ARD distributed (1000) BHKs to (1000) HHs from various targeted areas of the project according to the following statistics:

  1. 470 BHKs in Hawat
  2. 330 BHKs in Kerbat Jaradah
  3. 200 BHKs in Fargan

The distribution process was carried out in accordance with humanitarian work standards and according to an organized mechanism based on results of field survey for the beneficiary group, and well- trained work team selected and trained during the distribution process from the beneficiaries and ARD’s field team.

Supply medical devices, equipment and furniture to Alaqar Health Unit – Thoran district – Dhamar Governorate

Under partnership between YHF and ARD in emergency health response project in Dhamar governorate, ARD supplied medical equipment and furniture to Alaqar Health Unit in Thoran district – Dhamar Governorate and which included the following items:

1) Medical furniture included (equipping emergency rooms, inpatient and examination rooms, and provide them with examination tools and surgical instruments, as well as equipping the hospital’s delivery room).

2) Pharmacy furniture

The Health Unit proved services to approximately 5600 people in Thoran district

      Supply medical devices, equipment and furniture to Aishan Health Center – Jahran district – Dhamar Governorate

      Under partnership between YHF and ARD in emergency health response project in Dhamar governorate, ARD supplied medical equipment and furniture to Aishan Health Center – Jahran district – Dhamar Governorate and which included the following items:

      1) Medical furniture, which includes (equipping the emergency rooms, inpatient and examination rooms, and providing them with examination tools and surgical instruments, as well as equipping  hospital’s delivery room).

      2) Pharmacy furniture

      3) Laboratory devices

      4) Precipitation device

      5) Microscope device

      6) Laboratory kits

      The Health Unit proved services to Approximately 8700  people in Jahran district

        Supply medical devices, equipment and furniture to Aljumaah Rural Hospital – Jabal Alharq district – Dhamar Governorate

        Under partnership between YHF and ARD in   emergency health response project in Dhamar governorate, ARD supplied medical equipment and furniture to Alujma’ah Rural Hospital in  Jabal Alsharq district and  it included the following items :

        1) Medical furniture included (equipping the emergency rooms, inpatient, examination rooms, and provide them with examination tools and surgical instruments, as well as equipping the hospital’s delivery room).

        2) Pharmacy furniture

        3) Laboratory devices

        4)   (CBC) test

        5) Chemical screening device

        6) Microscope device

        7) Laboratory kits

        The hospital proved services to Approximately 62,000 people in Jabal Alsharq district.

            16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM CAMPAIGN Elimination of Violence against Women.

            To coincide with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women the 16 Days Campaign was a great opportunity for collaborating ARD Team to conduct an event & awareness session that reflect on this year’s theme by encouraging communities to prevent violence against women.

            The awareness session was conducted for ARD Team in the ARD Head office.  Posters and other session related materials were also distributed at these workshops thus encouraging ARD Team dialogue and raising awareness about the responsibility of each individual in safeguarding their communities against violence against women.
