As part if the emergency lifesaving health response project, in partnership with the Yemen Humanitarin Fund and in coordination with the GHO, ARD has implemented 2 workshops for the community midwives and for the community health volunteers during the period 30 December 2018 to 3 January 2019.
Community midwives were trained on reproductive health, minimum service package, pregnancy care, family planning, antenatal & postnatal care, danger signs during pregnancy, delivery methods with conditions requiring refer, STI, infection control during delivery, neonatal resuscitation and tetanus vaccine during pregnancy.
Community health volunteers were trained on special communication skills required to provide health messages to their communities. Health messages were mostly in communicable diseases (Cholera, Diphtheria, Bilharzia, TB, Dengue Fever, Malaria), family planning, antenatal & postnatal care, pregnancy care and personal hygiene.
