Our Updates

Al-Manaseh Health Center

On a very dry sunny day, the health team of the Al-Atta for Relief and Development (ARD) had a visit to Al-Manaseh Health Center located in wild Rabei district Al-Bayda’a to start the activities of the Emergency life-saving Response Project. We set out from Rada’a  town and along the way we noticed the roughness of the road that reflects the harshness of the place where there is no existence of life. On our way to the center, we noticed the presence of a large number of armed groups along the road, who were uncomfortable with our presence. After a two hour journey from Rada’a we got to a military point next to the center and they asked us to wait until we were allowed to pass. After waiting for an hour and many attempts we were allowed to pass. As we entered the center, we met an elderly woman who told us sad stories of the deaths of pregnant women who died during their transfer to hospitals in Rada’a due to the distance and difficulty of moving at night for security reasons and she told us that the center had been suspended since 2014 for being bombed. She also said the nearest health facility is 20 kilometers away.

We entered the center gate and were surprised by the view from inside, where debris and dust filled the place, the windows and doors are shattered, the walls are filled with random graffiti, everything indicates that the center has been shut down for a long time.

We took a look at the place and completed the evaluation writing and then set off and we all determined to start work directly and make us determined to achieve.

After a few days, coordination was done with local authorities to start the restoration and rehabilitation works. Despite all the difficulties that have hindered the work, the maintenance work was started at the center and in a record time, work was completed and the center was fully equipped to be prepared to receive and treat cases.
